Phil Kuyers represents District 9 on the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners, serving the communities of Grand Haven Charter Township, Robinson Township, and part of Spring Lake Township. First elected in 2000 – 2022 and re-elected in 2024, Phil is a lifelong resident of Ottawa County and has dedicated his career to agriculture, business, and public service.

While serving on the Board, Phil also operated his family’s dairy farm for more than 40 years and co-founded Pigeon Creek Golf Course in West Olive. His dual experience as a farmer and business owner gives him a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local families, small businesses, and rural communities.

Phil has held several leadership roles, including past Chair of the Board, and was elected in 2025 to the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Counties. Known for his steady, collaborative leadership, he focuses on fiscal responsibility, infrastructure, and the preservation of Ottawa County’s rural character.

Phil and his wife, Pam, have four children and nine grandchildren.
