John Teeples began serving on the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners in 2025. A 35-year resident of Georgetown Township, John has been married to his wife Sue for 42 years. Together they have three children and four grandchildren.

A lifelong traditional Republican, John is guided by faith, service, and gratitude. He is a good listener, problem-solver, and fiscal conservative who believes most challenges can be solved through hard work and goodwill. An avid outdoorsman, John strives to live with integrity and awareness of God’s presence each day.

John is an attorney with more than 40 years of experience in municipal, business, and estate law. He has served in numerous leadership roles including President of the Grandville-Jenison Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Environmental Law Section, and Board Chair of Emmanuel Hospice.
