Josh Brugger took his seat on the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners in 2025. A trusted small business owner, experienced public servant, and third-generation Tri-Cities native, Josh brings a steady, common-sense voice to local government. He believes county government should be “boring, reliable, and predictable,” quietly serving residents and supporting the community behind the scenes.
A Grand Haven High School graduate (1996) and Hope College alumnus (B.A. in Political Science and Pre-Law, 2000), Josh worked with Habitat for Humanity and Love INC before founding BruggerHouse Builders with his father in 2004. He has also volunteered internationally in South Africa and Mongolia.
Josh and his wife Jen, a school social worker with Reeths-Puffer Schools, are raising their sons Kaiden and Caleb, the fourth generation of West Michigan Bruggers, in Grand Haven. He and his family value hard work, service, and respectful dialogue; recognizing the backgrounds and experiences of all. He believes real progress comes from collaboration and a willingness to find common ground.
